นอกเหนือจากความรู้ในการบริหารจัดการด้านต่าง ๆ เรื่องที่ TMA เป็นภารกิจหลัก และกิจกรรมสำคัญ ประกอบด้วย

Thailand Competitiveness โดยเป็นองค์กร Partner กับ World Competitiveness Center แห่งสถาบัน IMD ที่ Switzerland ในการทำการสำรวจขีดความสามารถในการแข่งขันของประเทศไทยมากว่า 20 ปี โดยมีส่วนสำคัญในการเป็นตัวกลางสนับสนุนภาครัฐ ภาคเอกชน และสถาบันการศึกษาในการประสานความร่วมมือ เพื่อปรับปรุง ranking ของประเทศไทย ทั้งในเรื่องขีดความสามารถในการแข่งขันโดยรวมของประเทศ และขีดความสามารถในการแข่งขันด้านดิจิทัล ซึ่งเมื่อประเทศมีขีดความสามารถในการแข่งขันในด้านต่าง ๆ ดีขึ้น ก็จะช่วยสนับสนุนให้ภาคธุรกิจไทยดำเนินงานได้อย่างมีประสิทธิภาพ และช่วยดึงดูดเม็ดเงินการลงทุนจากต่างประเทศ
